Exciting things in store!

Exciting things are in store for the book!  Jean and my goal is to send the proposal off to the publishers by Thanksgiving!

Also, I (Jessica) just signed up for my certification as a food psychology life coach.  I am absolutely thrilled about this!

My second book (Authentic Expression) is coming a long a bit slower, but life tends to slow things down a bit.

Good things to come!

THE LIVE OUT LOUD SHOW

Book Update!

Hello Everyone! I am working hard on my daily meditation book, Authentic Expression (to which I am self-publishing.) Next week, Jean and I are meeting to continue working on our book. We are nearing what we need to submit to the publishers (we are not self-publishing our book, but submitting to a variety of top name publishers.) I am thrilled with the way things are going with both books, and am excited to be moving forward. Don’t forget the contest going on to win a free autographed copy (see blog for further details!) Have a great week and stay tuned for more updates!

Get Your Free Copy!

The book is coming along great, I am so excited about the direction in which its taking. I can’t give away too much information, but I can honestly say that I have never seen a book in this manner at all, and it is one that I would definitely buy (seriously, I am not being bias!)
My best friend, and co-author, also struggled with an eating disorder. She is now an LPCI and not too far from being a therapist herself. I don’t want to give away any more about how the book is tied together though, you’ll just have to wait and see!
So far we have a potential publisher (whoohoo!) but we have quite a bit more to do before we can pitch it to them. So while the book is coming along nicely, it’s still in the very early stages.
With that being said, for those of you recovery friends, you will have a chance to receive a free, autographed copy, when it’s all said and done!

Are you interested?
We want to hear about your recovery ~ no matter what stage you are in. Even if you start *today*, we want to hear your voice!
Please limit your entry to 500 words or less. Entries over 500 words may be disqualified. Get creative (essay, poem, daily journal, etc.) The only rule is that you cannot use any numbers (weight, calories, exercise amount, etc) profanity, etc. Please keep it clean!
The deadline is July 4, 2009 (yes, that is symbolic)
Please submit entries via e-mail to jesikabeth@live-out-loud.org
Got Questions? Please submit questions or comments to the same email address.
Make sure to include your: name, age, email contact info, (all must be included!)
The chosen entry will be released/notified in or before September 2009. Once you’ve been notified that your submission was chosen, it will be your responsibility (for this opportunity and your recovery) to reply with your postal info so I know where to send the book. The chosen applicant will have one week from date of notification to reply, otherwise we will choose another entry.
The chosen applicant will receive a free, autographed copy of the book once it is published and released, along with the same token gift I will be giving to those who attend the Renfrew Alumni event here in Houston in March 2009. The chosen submission will also be featured on this blog, if you would like (I can post you as anonymous if you wish.) Unfortunately I cannot give everyone a free copy of the book but Every applicant (who submits following the above guidelines) will receive something from me via e-mail (or myspace) in return for their dedication to themselves in recovery and having the courage to submit.

We look forward to receiving your submissions!

Coming Along!

We got together today to work on the book; The proposal is coming along nicely and we are both excited for the book to actually become *a book* LOL. More exciting news to come! Stay tuned ;-)

Live Out Loud

April 29, 2009 Updates

Hello Friends! I wanted to update you all on the book! We are currently in the process of working on the cover,  and I’m so excited about how it’s going to turn out.  We have a wonderfully talented graphic design/visual communications student working on it for us.  We are also working on finishing up what the publishers are requiring for submission (they do not require the entire manuscript, but rather parts of each section, which as you can imagine is a tedious task!) But… it’s coming along!  Jean and I will be meeting next week to work on it all.  Right now, we are shooting to get the publishers requirements in within the next 2 months or so.

Otherwise, Jean is working on various endeavors and expanding her personal therapy practice, and I am working on Live Out Loud, finishing up my associates degree, and working on getting my CAM (Certificate in Alternative and Complimentary Medicine) as well as beginning my certification as a life coach.

More updates to come!

Book #2

I am also in the process of writing another book, and have been for several months now.
